Is “values investing” valuable? What is faith-based investing and what are methods for implementing it? Are these methods effective, and what are the criteria for evaluating their effectiveness? Join us to answer these questions and others over lunch at our October COLLIS Lunch Seminar, “Faith-based Investing,” led by Prof. Maureen O’Hara (Robert W. Purcell Professor of Finance at the Johnson Graduate School of Management).
Over the course of the session, we’ll learn about negative and positive screens (a negative screen would include gambling firms and munitions; positive screens would include firms signed onto the Paris Accord); how faith-based investing fits into the context of the larger ESG Investment universe; what Catholic values are in this context, and how they can be implemented in investment strategies.
This seminar is open to Cornell and Ithaca College undergradautes, graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. Those of all faiths, and of none, are welcome at all COLLIS events.
